Tools for Digital Imaging and Other Fun Stuff

I wrote these tools to assist those people who are using the Photoshop plug-in Genuine Fractals in planning scaled images from medium or smaller sized images to larger sizes. Each tool has a help file attached to it in case you need some further guidance. I sincerely hope you enjoy your experience scaling to large sizes.

So - How big will my image really print?

A quick tool for determining exactly how big your image will print - just enter the images dimensions, in pixels, and it will tell you what sizes you can print (before scaling).

The ScalingPlanner

This tool is designed to help you get the maximum quality out of your files when scaling with Genuine Fractals.

The Scanner Planner

The ScannerPlanner is designed to help you make decisions regarding scanning an image which will be used at a larger size. This tool will help you work with a smaller file for image manipulation, color correction, etc., which will, at the end of the editing/production process, be scaled to a larger size for output.

It is designed to help you make decisions in finding the optimum source file size when you know what your final, target size will be. It is not restricted to this specific use, however.

This tool includes a set of printer resolutions, which can be updated dynamically. (Specifically what the true dpi resolution of a specific printer is). If you would like to contribute to this list, please feel free to email this information to me.

The printer menus in this tool are being built dynamically, so there may be a delay in their loading as this happens. Please have a little patience if they do not appear immediately when the tool launches.

The PixelDoubler

This tool is designed to help you get the maximum quality out of your files when scaling with Genuine Fractals beyond 600% It is an extended version of the ScalingPlanner.

These files are written in Flash 5 and require that the Flash 5 plugin be installed in your browser. Because of the interactive nature of the tools, Flash 5 is required, and they are not backwards compatible to previous versions of Flash.
